JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Sales is a key member of the hotel’s executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing a refined, revenue-driven sales strategy aligned with the distinctive character and luxury positioning of our boutique property in Uptown Houston. This leader will drive group and catering business, curate high-touch client relationships, and mentor a dynamic sales team while championing the hotel’s brand values and delivering results with sophistication, creativity, and consistency.

Strategic Sales Leadership
Develop and implement strategic sales plans that align with hotel goals across all market segments including group, corporate, leisure, and social.
Set and oversee measurable sales targets and ensure the team is motivated and resourced to achieve them.
Utilize trend analysis, competitive intelligence, and market research to optimize revenue across group and catering channels.
Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to ensure optimal mix and yield strategies.
Represent the hotel in strategic owner, brand, and stakeholder meetings.Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, enduring relationships with clients, luxury travel planners, event planners, and community partners.
Act as a brand ambassador, personally engaging with top accounts and key decision-makers.
Oversee the seamless handoff and execution of group events in collaboration with the Events & Catering team to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Host and attend high-profile industry events to elevate the hotel’s visibility and desirability.Team Development & Talent Cultivation
Recruit, mentor, and develop a best-in-class sales team that reflects the elegance, warmth, and service excellence expected of a luxury boutique hotel.
Conduct one-on-one coaching, performance reviews, and incentive program tracking to nurture both individual and team growth.
Champion a collaborative culture with a focus on communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.Sales Operations & Performance
Monitor and manage all sales activities using systems such as Delphi or Opera Sales & Catering.
Oversee all reporting, forecasting, sales budgeting, and pipeline activity with precision and timeliness.
Approve group bookings, contracts, space usage, and rate decisions in accordance with hotel revenue goals.
Administer incentive programs, track sales goals, and recognize exceptional performance across the team.Guest Experience & Brand Standards
Lead with a guest-first mindset and ensure the sales team supports a seamless guest journey from initial inquiry through post-stay follow-up.
Partner with Marketing & PR to ensure alignment between sales promotions and brand storytelling.
Uphold and model the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and brand integrity.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment; previous leadership experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets while delivering exceptional client service.
Deep knowledge of the Houston market, particularly Uptown, Galleria, and the Museum/River Oaks Districts, is a strong asset.
Strong understanding of luxury service standards and high-end client expectations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; polished presentation and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in CRM and sales platforms such as Delphi, Opera, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel locally and regionally for sales calls, tradeshows, and client engagements.DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
