Hotel Director of Housekeeping

Job Summary
Westin Mount Laurel is seeking an experienced, energetic Director of Housekeeping. Responsibilities include to supervise and direct staff to assure the completion of housekeeping tasks are completed in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visually inspect guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance. Prepare work orders for any maintenance needed.

· Make personnel decisions (hire, fire, promote, adjust salary); instruct new employees; observe and evaluate job performance to provide feedback; develop/utilize tools to promote programs to improve productivity, safety, profitability, etc.; motivate staff and maintain excellent employee relations.

• Train and monitor performance of room attendants and housepersons. Provide organization, instruction, guidance, communication, counseling, as well as exercise good judgment. Ensure all jobs are completed within the shift.
• Provide organization, instruction, guidance, communication and counseling.
• Take inventories of furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies, etc.
• Check for cleanliness of Room Attendant carts and linen supply closets are kept clean, neat and stocked.
• Open and Close Housekeeping Department - shared with Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Maintain Lost and Found to respond for contact from guests.

· Perform any related duties as requested by management.

Experience:

· Minimum three years of management experience in hospitality housekeeping role.

· Full Service Hotel Experience

· Requires proven managerial skill as position involves frequent decisions, meeting of deadline, negotiations of contracts of vendors, analytical ability and the planning, organization development and coordination of large-scale work projects.

• Ability to provide clean direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates.
